CV

Liza Neklessa (b.1989) is an artist and poet from Moscow, Russia. She has participated in artistic and literary projects in Russia, Great Britain, Germany, France, Kazakhstan, etc. She was a 2024 Museum Quarter Vienna Artist-in Residence. Her last solo exhibition «Igor» took place in 2023 at Center for Creative industries FABRIKA (Moscow). She has published three collections of poems in Russian, each accompanied by her own illustrations: «A Sieve Filled with Berries», «Phenomenology of Death: Some Notes» and «1917». «A Sieve Filled with Berries» was also published in Russian and English by Calque Press (London) in 2023. The book Phenomenology of Death: A Few Notes was included in the list of the most important poetry books of 2018-19 by the editors of Feminist writing (Moscow). The poetry collection A Sieve Filled with Berries was included in the top 10 most important poetry books of 2022 by the literary critic Lev Oborin. Since 2019, she has been included annually in the Russian Investment Art Rating I LIKE, which represents contemporary artists under the age of 37.
